Car: driving a car is a good way to explore the island and will enable you to explore off the beaten track. You can be much more flexible and you will probably end up saving some money on transportation costs. There are plenty of car hire options here, but it is a good idea to book your car hire in advance to avoid disappointment.
Moped: mopeds as well as motorcycles are a good way to get around the island and are a very popular option. There are plenty of different companies where you can hire a good range from scooters up to larger 650cc motorcycles. It’s a relatively inexpensive way to get around and the longer you rent for, the lower your daily rate will be.
Taxi: travelling by taxi is another popular way to get around the island. Taxi drivers here have a good reputation for being honest, although as with anywhere there is always one or two who will try and take advantage of tourists. This is particularly true of the run to and from the airport. Technically all taxis are metered but for short journeys drivers don’t tend to put them on.
It is also possible to hire a taxi for a day or a specific trip to one of the island’s main attractions and many taxi companies will advertise their fixed rates to various destinations.
