Football: the city has a passion for football that is almost unrivalled anywhere else. The sport plays an important part in many people’s lives, with locals often spending Sundays watching games, talking about the games and looking forward to the next game. Visitors are welcome to attend live games, but getting tickets can be problematic as many games sell out immediately.
Game: if you want to keep fit while socialising with others, the city has a number of options. Many local parks see friendly football matches on a daily basis, while sports centres offer sporting facilities such as swimming pools, squash and tennis courts, playing fields, fitness rooms and exercise classes. There are also local clubs offering the following: basketball, volleyball, ice hockey, tennis, squash and badminton.
Rent a paddle boat: and see how far you can go in an hour. If you enjoy a paddle along the river, you might also enjoy a cruise on the larger riverboat while you relax in style. When your river tour is complete, there is no better way to round off the day then to enjoy a cooling drink at one of the riverside bars.
Bull fighting: go native and experience a traditional Spanish bullfight at the Plaza de Toros, which is one of the best venues in the world. The bullring also boasts a museum, but beware: neither is for the faint-hearted.
