Day Trips and Excursions in Seville
Italica: offers the remains of a Roman city and is a must-see during any trip to Seville. It can be found in the town of Santiponce, which is just 10 minutes from central Seville by car. Much of the site has been excavated, offering a fascinating insight into Roman Andalusia. The nearby Monasterio de San Isidoro del Campo was an acclaimed learning institute during Spain’s Golden Age (1492 to 1665).
National Park of Donana: can be reached by car in just over 1 hour. It is the largest avian reserve in the whole of Europe and offers a great chance to bird-watch as well as to enjoy the park’s stunning natural scenery.
Antigua Fabrica de Tabacos: is a massive defunct tobacco factory located south of the city centre. It is a fascinating place to visit and it boasts a long and detailed history.
Granada: this beautiful city has recently been declared a national monument, which is most famous for its prime example of Moorish architecture - the Alhambra. The Sierra Nevada mountain range provides a stunning background to this enchanting city.
