Getting There

Getting to Marbella
By air: the nearest airport is Malaga which is currently the fourth busiest in Spain, handling over 12 million passengers every year. There are flights to over 120 destinations around the world including a staggering 23 airports in the UK.
A shuttle bus takes about 45 minutes to reach the city centre in Marbella. An alternative but more expensive option is to take a taxi. Car hire is easily arranged from one of the operators in the terminal building, but booking online and in advance is advisable and undoubtedly cheaper.
By car: car hire is usually a good idea if you want to explore the area and it's easy and cheap to arrange. If you are travelling to Marbella by car then take the main coast road (N340) which runs along the whole of the southern coast. The city is a 30 minute drive from the provincial capital, Malaga. There is also a new toll road, the AP-7, which runs parallel to the N340 and has less traffic and a higher speed limit.
