The Majorca (Mallorca) Museum (Museu de Mallorca): is located near to the Cathedral and is housed in the 400 year old Palau Ayamans, a magnificent and grand building. There are a range of collections and thousands of exhibits on display here, including some pre-historic artefacts and Moorish ceramics that were unearthed during archaeological digs.
There are also some medieval and Baroque paintings as well as relics from buildings that have been destroyed over the centuries.
Carrer de sa Portella 5; Open: 10:00 to 14:00 and 17:00 to 20:00, Tuesday to Saturday; 10:00 to 14:00, Sunday.
The Municipal Museum (Museu Municipal): is located in the old Convent de Santo Domingo, the municipal museum is relatively small, but still has enough to make a visit worthwhile. There is a small collection of modern art and a range of archaeological artefacts, but most significant here is the large collect of sacred Gothic art.
Carrer Santo Domingo Open: Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 10:00 to 17:00.
Krekovic Museum (Museu Krekovic): opened in 1981 and is almost entirely dedicated to the work of the Croatian artist, Kristian Krekovic, with a large number of his pieces. Krekovic loved the island and settled here in the mid 60s, living here until his death in 1985. The museum also has some handicrafts and other paintings from Spain and Latin America.
