By air: Palma de Majorca (Mallorca) Airport is the fourth busiest in Spain and during the summer becomes the busiest airport in the country. The airport is located just five miles east of the city and there are dozens of flights arriving here daily, especially during the high tourist season. The vast majority of flights are from domestic and European destinations, but there also some international flights here.
Flying time from the UK is around 2 hours, 30 minutes. Domestic flights from the Spanish mainland tend to be relatively expensive, with the exception of flights from Barcelona, Madrid and Valencia. The airport has good transport links to the rest of the island with buses, taxis, and a well organised road network. Many of the hotels and resorts provide free shuttle buses for their guests.
There are a range of ferries available, some for foot passengers only, but there are also some car ferries for those wishing to take their own vehicles to the island. There are plenty of car hire firms in Majorca (Mallorca) though, so it may be easier to hire a car when you arrive.
