Majorca (Mallorca) Cave: continue to attract large numbers of visitors every year. Not all of the caves are open to the public, but it is well worth visiting some of the ones that are.
The caves have weaved there way into the soft limestone rock and there are some remarkable underground lakes as well as many stalagmites and stalactites that you can see on your trip. The caves were once homes for the early settlers on the island. Guided tours can be arranged and the most popular caves tend to be those at Arta and Del Drac.
There is also a small zoo here and a children’s farm which has shows to keep the kids entertained. If you don’t want the adrenalin rush of the slides then there are some lovely lawns and a Jacuzzi to relax in. The park is open between May and October.
Marineland: is located at Portals Nous and is one of the most popular attractions for families on the island. The live shows here are especially popular with dolphins, sea lions, and parrots performing every day. The dolphin displays of acrobatic skills as they leap out of the water, always draws the crowds.
Manacor: is the second largest town on the island and is most famous for its pearls. Pearls have been crucial to the economy of the town since the late 19th century when the industry was established and today there are many shops selling these beautiful gems.
If you want to buy some pearls, then the factory located just outside the town is one of the best places to buy them and you can also take a guided tour and learn about how artificial diamonds are created. Sports fans might be interested to know that Manacor is also the birth place of Spanish tennis sensation, Rafael Nadal.
There is also a small stage here, where performers keep the crowds entertained while they browse. Underneath Placa Major is a large shopping complex with a variety of retail outlets and souvenir shops.
