UK visitors may be able to take direct flights depending on the airport they fly from. Train is a viable option with good rail links maintained with major Spanish cities while the road network makes travelling by either coach or car, an uncomplicated and convenient means of transportation.
By air: situated west of the city centre, Granada Airport provides a significant gateway to the Andalusian region and receives flights from a variety of domestic cities as well as from the United Kingdom. The airport is a small facility dealing mainly with domestic carriers and seeing a large proportion of its traffic coming from Madrid and Barcelona as many international visitors take flights to those airports before transferring to Granada.
Both standard and high speed trains run along most of these routes and all services arrive at Estacion de RENFE de Granada located on avenue Andaluces.
By bus: buses can be taken from a variety of Spanish cities and are a reasonably cheap way of getting to the city if you are already in the country. Services operate regularly from Madrid, Seville, Cordoba, Marbella and Malaga. Visitors coming from European destinations can use the Eurolines bus service to reach Spain. Services travel from London to France and onto Spain with a journey time of several days.
