March Festivals

Holy Week: has been declared by the city as an official ‘Holiday of interest to the tourist’, is among the grandest festivities in Granada’s calendar; attracting large numbers of both domestic and international tourists every year.
The Wednesday of Holy Week sees a procession through the city’s streets known as ‘Christ of the Gypsies’, then the following day the Procession of Silence is also conducted while on Easter Saturday, the Procession of Las Anguastias takes place.
June Festivals

Sonar: fans of electronic music should not miss out on Granada’s Sonar festival, an annual affair that is the biggest of its kind in Europe. A variety of venues across the city present live electronic music performances which capture the many styles that this popular genre boasts. The event is staged in June.
June/July Festivals

International Festival of Music and Dance: is the city’s biggest event in its calendar and attracts huge crowds to witness what is essentially an assembly of some of the world’s finest cultural performers. Held at Alhambra from June to July, the event sees performances from international orchestras and ballets from around the globe.
