Local cuisine
Granada is located in the Andalusia region and as such, many of its popular dishes are of Andalusian origin; there are some local specialties however, that visitors should definitely consider trying if they want to get a sense of true Granada cuisine. Bastela is a popular local delicacy that is something like the English concept of a pie.
Nationally popular dishes that make it onto the menus of Granada’s restaurants include paella, Spanish omelette and hot and cold soups known as sopas. Most Spaniards like a glass of wine or two with a meal and in Granada, the vintage of choice is generally un costa, a fruity, locally produced number that is the perfect accompaniment to a good meal.
