Winters in Barcelona last from November until March and some days can see temperatures as low as 4°C, but this is rare and temperatures throughout the winter rarely fall below 10°C. If you are thinking of travelling in winter, you should consider packing a warm sweater and waterproof jacket as Spanish winters can be wet. February is often the city’s coldest month as cold snaps travel down through the Pyrenees.
From March, the temperatures begin to improve and spring is often extremely pleasant. Summer generally lasts from June until early September with temperatures often exceeding 35°C. Average temperatures usually hover at a much more reasonable 26°C. Rainfall is uncommon in the summer, although there can be occasional thunderstorms if the humidity has built up. Temperatures begin to cool from September onwards.
