Barcelona Travel Guide

Getting There

Getting to Barcelona
By air: the international airport receives a large number of flights per day from destinations across the world. Services from European countries are the most frequent with a number of daily services to many European countries. The airport also services domestic destinations with several low cost fares available.
By train: a north to south coastal route passes through Barcelona and is extremely efficient and reliable. Spain is renowned for its excellent rail network and good value. It is possible to travel directly from Seville, Madrid and Paris. Throughout the country, you have the option of the local Talgo, the faster Intercity and the long-distance high-speed AVE trains.
By ferry: services are generally only practical if you are arriving from the Balearic Islands. These services arrive at regular intervals throughout the day.
By road: there are a number of highways linking Barcelona with other national and international cities. The express highway (E-15) leads to the city from France and the north of Spain while there is a stunning coastal route from the Costa Brava.
