Introduction to Valencia - Gandia
Nestled between the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea, Gandia is one of Spain's best kept secrets. It is an ideal location for enjoying both a beach holiday as well as hiking and exploring. The city can be found just south of Valencia, along the stunning Costa del Azahar and consists of a thriving city centre as well as a beach resort area. The city can be visited year round, but the Las Fallas festival in March is when it is at its busiest. Many Gandia hotels reach their fill capacity during this time. Holy Week is another major festival that attracts tourists. The city centre is where all of the historic monuments can be found, including the important Palacio Ducal de Gandia and the 14th century Church of Santa Maria.
