Introduction to Toledo - Carranque
Carranque, a quaint town in Toledo, is famous for its archaeological park. Carranque Archaeological Park is this pleasing Spanish town's main draw and the reason why so many tourists visit annually. It features three Roman villas with ancient mosaics. The remains of Building A, also known as Palatium, are made out of marble and date back to around 400 AD. Building B is now called Mausoleum and only consists of the floor plan as all of the walls have long been destroyed. Villa de Materno (House of Mother) is Building C and encompasses the remains of a 1,000 square metre luxurious villa that boasts stunning mosaics depicting portraits of Athena, Hercules, Diana and the warrior Achilles. There are only a few Carranque hotels so it is best to book early, as many visitors come here not only for the park, but to explore the stunning surrounding countryside.other spellings: carranque hotels, caranque otel, carranqeu hote, caranque hotell, garranque hotle
