Introduction to Teruel - City Centre
Located in the province of Aragon in the Spanish Pyrenees, Teruel is a small historic town with plenty for the touring visitor to view. Its location some 900 metres up in the mountains has led to it being something of a forgotten place in Spain, but therein lies its charm. The old quarter of the city has World Heritage status, with strong influence from the Moors which is highlighted by the 12th century Mudejar Teruel cathedral. Other impressive sights to be enjoyed here are La Escalinata stairway and right in the city centre, Plaza del Torico square. This is the location for the vast majority of hotels in Teruel city centre, with a good range of properties to choose from. The old quarter is right on the doorstep so guests have few worries when it comes to getting around. Just walking about the city centre will provide a great glimpse of the history of this unique mountain city.
