Introduction to Tenerife - Vilaflor
In the south-central region of Tenerife lies the small agricultural town of Vilaflor. Tourism is not as much a part of the local economy here as in other parts of Tenerife, but the surrounding Teide region is quite popular with tourists exploring the interior of the island. One of Vilaflor's most important attractions is the medieval church known as the Church of St Peter. Case del Obispo, the summer home of the Bishop of Tenerife, is another notable architectural landmark. This town and its surrounding hills are the highest point of Tenerife, giving it a cooler climate than areas along the coast. Visitors can take pleasant walks through the agricultural areas, which is the main activity in Vilaflor. There aren't many hotels in Vilaflor, so the town is mainly used as a daytrip destination for visitors exploring the scenic Teide area.
