Located on the banks of the Guadalquivir River and considered to be southern Spain’s most influential city, Seville is a popular destination among discerning European travellers. Although famed for its centrally located museums and monuments, the city has several attractions outside the most central districts. The best views of Seville can be found by climbing Cerro de Carambolo, a mountain on the outskirts of the city. Several bus routes to the mountain depart from the Plaza de Armas. The outskirts are also packed with family attractions, such as Isla Magica, an amusement park around four kilometres north of the city centre. To the east of the city, Aquopolis provides a diversion for those more interested in water-based activities. Around 20 minutes’ drive to the north, Mundo Park hosts all the usual rides and attractions as well as the city’s zoo and botanical gardens.
