San Roman De Escalante Hotel - Santander

Hidden at the back of the Nature Reserve of Santona is the San Roman De Escalante Hotel, built in a former manor house dating back to the 17th century. This tranquil and peaceful accommodation also offers massage services to its guests. Some rooms have terraces and balconies; all suites have jacuzzis and 4 poster beds. A golf course is just 5 kilometres away and a venue for horse riding is just 10 minutes away by car. Bike riding may also be done and bicycles may be rented from the hotel. The restaurant will take you back in time and will make you fill as a if you were in a XVII century manor house. It is housed in a cosy stone built annex with high beamed ceilings and a full range of regional and international specialities worth tasting. Breakfast is also served in this room and although continental in reality is a la carte breakfast. There is a wide variety of regional product to choose like cheese, pastries, regional sponge (sobaos), yogurt, fresh orange juice and many others.

The reception is found in the main building in the central square. This has also been tastefully decorated and furnished, behind the main lobby there is a quiet, welcoming and cosy library with armchairs, sofas and a piano. There is a large variety of books to read in different languages while enjoying an afternoon tea. Once you enter the complex feel free to discover every corner.

This little hotel complex is all surrounded by its private forest, outdoor swimming-pool, gardens and beautiful landscapes where you can see during most of the day cows and horses. All the little buildings have been built with stone and wooden beams. The main entrance with its coat of arms welcomes you to a unique place.
