Introduction to Pyrenees-Catalan - Alp
Situated just five miles south of Spain's border with France in the Pyrenees-Catalan Mountains, Alp is a small town with a large tourist following. In winter the town is a major base for skiing and other winter sports, while in summer Alp is popular for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding. It is also possible to go whitewater rafting here. The town's location is superb for exploring the surrounding area. Just a few miles to the south lies Cadi-Moixero Nature Park with its splendid scenery, and a little farther to the north right on the French side of the border is the huge Pyrenees Catalan Regional Nature Park, which offers a range of winter and summer sports. For duty-free shopping and more mountain scenery, Andorra is also just 10 miles away.
