Introduction to Pyrenees-Aragon - Biescas
One of the gateways to Spain's incredible Pyrenees National Park is the town of Biescas. It sits in the broad Tena Valley of northern Spain's Aragon region, just to the south of the national park. It provides travellers with a last stopover for supplies and services before driving into the mountains. Though the town has been around for several centuries, its main source of income these days is tourism. In addition to developed camping grounds, there are a handful of Biescas hotels and lodges around town. Most visitors use Biescas as a base for daily excursions into the Pyrenees for hiking, biking, boating, fishing and other outdoor recreation. Just to the north of town is Bubal Lake, a huge body of water with a couple of resort villages around its shores. With three big lakes within easy striking distance, the town is a jumping-off point for recreation on the water. There are just enough facilities here, such as cafes and shops, to cover all the needs of holidaymakers looking to soak in the majesty of the mountains.other spellings: hotelsbiescas, byscas otel, biecas hotell, biescas hote, biescas hotle, byscas
