Introduction to Pyrenees-Aragon - Astun
Almost straddling the border with France in the northern Spanish Pyrenees-Aragon, Astun is a popular ski resort with people from both countries, and indeed those from all over Europe and beyond. Considered one of the most modern in Spain, there are about 25 miles of pistes here. The town itself lies close to Candanchu to the west, also a ski resort. There is a joint pass that permits access to winter sports facilities at both towns which is an easy five-minute drive. Astun is a purpose-built ski resort that lies more than 5,000 feet above sea level, offering a host of amenities including restaurants, ski-hire shops and a ski school, as well as a kindergarten for those that want to take to the piste but leave young children down-slope. Astun hotels are all designed as ski accommodation, which means they are set up for operation in the cold winter season only.other spellings: astun otel, astun hote, astun hotles, astun hotle, astun hotes
