Few parts of Spain's lengthy coastline offer such diverse and interesting scenery as the area around Pontevedra. This corner of Galicia is laced with country roads that wind over and around the series of deep inlets that cut their way inland from the Atlantic coast. Dozens of traditional villages and seaside resorts make for endless driving destinations, but there are only a handful of large towns in the area. Cangas de Morrazo is the biggest town on the finger of land that runs off of Pontevedra and offers travellers a good base for fuelling up, grabbing a meal or buying supplies. There are several Cangas de Morrazo hotels on site for travellers who need to stop over for the night. The town has its own little harbour where fishing boats and yachts hang about. Just next door is the Paseo Maritimo, the scenic promenade that runs along the tiny downtown core, where most of the interesting cafes and bars are located.
