Parador de Tui Hotel - Pontevedra

Located close to the Portuguese border, the Parador de Tui Hotel is tucked in a lush garden and is a good jumping off point for exploring the river and the cathedral nearby. This traditional Galician manor is very near the churches of San Francisco, San Telmo, and San Bartolome. It is also close to the Mino River, and is a good base for visiting Portugal to explore the fortified city of Valenca do Minho. This private and quiet retreat is a practical base for day trips to Pontevedra. Tui city centre is only a kilometre away and can be reached in a short drive. Through its windows the large front garden and the Portuguese mountains can be enjoyed. Among the specialities are cod and raisins pastry, Santiago shells with grated sea fruits and for pudding San Telmo iced glas or San Eo cake.

The main entrance leads to the lobby area. Large basing its decoration in a rural castillian-galician style.

Like the Paradors of Monterrei, Cambados or Bayona, this hotel imitates the typical Galician manor house in the country. Preceded by a 'cruceiro' (cross), the building was constructed with granite and chesnut-tree wood in 1968 and refurbished later on. The powerful tower stands out and underneath the main door.
