Introduction to Ourense - Allariz
In the historical nation of Galicia in northwest Spain, the tiny town of Allariz holds some of the region's most authentic medieval scenery and a number of important historical examples of religious, military and civil structures. Along its cobblestone streets, visitors will find the chapel of San Bieto and the Mosteiro de Santa Clara, the latter of which has one of the largest cloisters in the country. The Romanesque architecture of Vilanova Vridge and the Santiago parish church once filled the towns of Galicia, but now examples are limited to a specific few. The area around the Arnoia River is the prettiest part of town, where century-old oaks tower over riverbank paths and restaurants, and a museum fills the halls of abandoned leather factories. Allariz hotels place travellers at a crossroads of a number of charming towns in the Ourense Province, making it a perfect location to explore Spanish neighbourhoods that have maintained their medieval charm. But be sure to stick around for the Festa do Boi, when garlanded oxen run through the streets under showers of flour thrown by spectators to commemorate the procession of Corpus Christi.other spellings: allarizhotels, allariz otel, alariz hote, alleriz hotles, allaris hotle, allarez hotes
