Introduction to Menorca - Son Bou
Son Bou is a small town situated in Menorca's Alaior region. The region is divided into three districts: San Jaime, Torre Soli Nou and Son Bou. There are two Son Bou hotels as well as a number of shops and restaurants. The beach in the town is the island's longest, stretching for three kilometres and boasting beautiful golden sands. There are many restaurants and bars in the town, of which several have chosen to adopt a British style while others serve international cuisine, including Chinese. There is also a range of Menorquin and Spanish restaurants which serve up excellent dishes. Among the town's attractions are the church of Basilica Paleocristiana de Son Bou and a giant maze. During the holiday season in summer, there are shows, quizzes or karaoke in the majority of bars and clubs here. During the winter months, the resort is fairly quiet and most facilities close down.
