Introduction to Menorca - Cala Blanca
The Balearic Islands are a group of Spanish islands in the Mediterranean Sea, famous for their top tourist resorts, lush green interiors and beautiful beaches. On the extreme west coast is the modern resort of Cala Blanca, approximately five kilometres away from the former capital of Ciutadella. The town was only built in the 1990s and was specifically designed to accommodate tourists, so perhaps lacks some of the rustic charm that can be found in the rest of the island. That said, as the island is so small, booking hotels in Menorca allows you to explore at your will. The island became protected as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 1993 and there are many untouched beaches here that can only be reached on foot. The rugged but stunning coastline is also home to some very rare plant life. Activities in Menorca are varied and, besides from the usual water sports available at beach resorts, Golf Son Parc offers a championship-quality course in a picturesque setting.other spellings: cala blancahotels, calablanca otel, cala banca hote, cala blanca hotles, cala blanca
