Introduction to Mallorca - Porto Cristo
Majorca is a favourite holiday island which offers all that is needed for a terrific break. The swimming, food and nightlife are just three of the reasons people come to Majorca, and one of the more favoured spots is on the east coast at Porto Cristo. It's about an hour from the main town of Palma but once here, the local attractions will more than occupy the holiday time. There is a good long beach in the centre of the town and this is also the location for most Porto Cristo hotels. The evening scene is much quieter than that found in Palma and thus valued by families. The Porto Cristo sea caves at Drach and Hams are not only local attractions but tourists come from other parts of Majorca to see these natural subterranean grottoes. For some, the boat tour is enough of a thrill, and seeing the massive stalagmites worth the trip.
