Introduction to Mallorca - Port De Soller
Port de Soller is a seaside resort in the northwest of Mallorca, just four kilometres from Soller’s quaint inland town. Travellers can get here by taking a historic train to the town from Palma before transferring to the port by tram. Trams depart around every 30 minutes. Alternatively, there are direct buses to the port from the island’s capital. There are several Port de Soller hotels, but the resort is a far cry from Mallorca’s more developed southwest, retaining a peaceful ambiance. Much of the tourist activity centres on the marina, where all the usual restaurants, fast-food outlets and souvenir shops can be found. There is a beach too, which is flanked by two distinctive lighthouses at either end of the bay. The resort is a good place to experience typical local festivals.
