Introduction to Mallorca - Playa de Muro
Playa de Muro is a peaceful seaside resort in the northeast of Mallorca. Around five kilometres south of central Alcudia, this resort is one of the area’s newest developments. Travellers can get here by flying into Palma’s Son Sant Joan Airport and completing the 90-minute transfer by road. Given the size of recent developments, it is now difficult to pinpoint where Alcudia ends and where Playa de Muro begins. Accommodation prices give a good idea, however, since Playa de Muro hotels tend to be much more expensive than their counterparts farther north. Much of the accommodation offers direct access to the pristine beach, where warm and shallow waters ensure the safety of young swimmers. On the outskirts of the resort, S’Albufera Park is a haven for nature lovers, with birdwatchers particularly enchanted by the sights on offer.
