Introduction to Mallorca - Capdepera
Capdepera is a popular holiday destination in the far northeast of Mallorca. Most visitors stay in Capdepera’s port, Cala Ratjada. However, increasing numbers of travellers are staying in quieter Mallorca hotels in the municipality. Capdepera is split over several areas of interest to tourist. A few miles north of Cala Ratjada, Cala Mesquida has a couple of modern holiday complexes within easy reach of all the main attractions. Couples on a romantic break might like to stay at Font de Sa Cala beach, a few miles south. Cala Ratjada used to be a quaint fishing village, but now appeals mainly to German and British package tourists. Almost all tourists staying here fly into Palma before transferring to the municipality by road. However, there is also a ferry service to its Balearic neighbour, Minorca. Most tourist activity centres on the quayside, which is home to a number of bars and restaurants.
