Introduction to Mallorca - Cala San Vicente
The magical Mediterranean island of Mallorca has been popular with hordes of sun-seeking travellers for more than half a century since the first tourist charters touched down at the biggest island in the Balearics. The combination of fun, food, sun, sea and scenery is hard to beat, with some 10 million visitors each year being attracted to both the busy resort destinations and the quiet, less-famous villages. Tourists seeking a quiet destination are likely to love the fishing village of Cala San Vicente, where life remains largely unspoilt by the island’s huge tourist trade. Hotels in Cala San Vicente sit amid some of the most stunning and rugged coastline to be found on the island. The jewel-like beaches, chief among them being Cala Barques, are reached within minutes, and hikes through the surrounding hills reward walkers with breathtaking vistas. A relatively bustling nightlife can be found at Pollensa, just 15 minutes’ drive to the south. The Port of Pollensa, also close by, sits on a beautiful, broad bay that offers more beaches, shopping and other amenities. The big-city attractions as well as international flights of Palma take less than an hour to reach by car.Visit our Mallorca Travel Guide
