Introduction to Malaga - Mijas
This is a rural mountain town set back from the main resorts of the Costa del Sol, so is an ideal place to stay if peace and quiet is on the agenda. Mijas is a favourite daytrip location for those on holiday in Banelmadena or the ever busy Fuengirola. So the quaint Spanish town which sits in the forested mountains has a high volume of daytime visitors, but this does not detract from the atmosphere of the place. There are good restaurants and fine hotels in Mijas, most of which are located in the Mijas Costa area. In the village itself, the whitewashed houses and winding streets have never been developed for the hotel business, although there is a good four-star property and small guest houses around the central area. This is the main attraction of the town, along with the donkey taxis, the two Mudejar churches, and the Hermitage of El Puerto.other spellings: mijashotel, mija hote, miyas hotles, mejas hotle, nijas hotes
