Introduction to Malaga - Casares
The white village of Casares is a great place to stop while touring the Moorish mountain towns of Andalucia. The town is draped over the flanks of a hill that's crowned with the ruins of an Arab castle, creating one of the prettiest scenes in the region. Casares is one of the larger towns in the mountains, so there are more options for dining, drinking and shopping here than in the smaller hamlets. At its centre is the Plaza de Espana, the main public square that's ringed with a few traditional cafes and historic buildings. It could easily take a couple of days to really explore the town and its Moorish castle, and there is a good selection of Casares hotels providing accommodation to the tourists who pass through. All around the town are rolling pastureland and orchards with country paths ideal for long walks. Malaga is less than an hour away by car, so travellers could visit Casares for the day if staying here overnight isn't on the agenda.other spellings: casareshotel, casars hote, casare hotles, caseres hotle, carsares otel
