Introduction to Malaga - Alora El Chorro
Situated inland from the Costa del Sol Mediterranean coastline in Spain, close to the city of Malaga, Alora El Chorro is a charming white-bleached town crammed into a hillside between three rocky outcrops. With its idyllic setting and ancient sites, the town makes a welcome escape from the brash, coastal cities just a short drive away. The castle here dates back to the pre-Roman era, although it has since been restored and rebuilt a number of times as is evident from the assortment of stone in its facade today. The site, perched on a small hill, makes an ideal spot from which to view the town. A number of churches and other buildings here date back about 500 years, including Las Torres which is a striking structure in the late Gothic style. There are only a small number of Alora El Chorro hotels, the best of which are located close to the Town Hall.
