Introduction to Madrid - Salamanca North
One of the more interesting and accessible of Madrid’s 21 districts is Salamanca North. Its location, just to the north of Retiro Park and the centre of the capital, makes it easy to move around Madrid when staying in one of the many Salamanca North hotels. There are a number of grand old buildings in this district, such as the Arab House, the 1903 House Palace and the Palace of Amboage. Most of the city’s top museums are a quick taxi ride to the south, including the must-see Prado Museum and its legendary art collection. Retiro Park is a wonderful spot on the edge of Salamanca where travellers can escape the concrete crush of Madrid and stroll along wide shady paths. Several metro stations are on hand throughout this district to ensure easy transport to the rest of the city.
