One of the communities that lies along the edges of metropolitan Madrid is Boadilla del Monte, an interesting town in its own right, with some decent historic attractions and local amenities. After just a few minutes spent walking around the centre of this town, its antiquity is evident in the grand stone buildings, the old stone bridges and the serene churches. The Palacio del Infante don Luis is one of the more popular attractions, with its spacious grounds and huge palace complex. The Iglesia de San Crisotbal is the best of the Boadilla del Monte churches and definitely worth a visit. Although the town is rather small, visitors will find several Boadilla del Monte hotels and a smattering of restaurants. Several excellent golf courses are situated within minutes of the town, including Las Encinas and Somosaguas. Madrid is close enough to be reachable with ease for a day's outing, making Boadilla a good choice for visitors who plan to do a lot of golfing but still want to enjoy the capital.
