Introduction to Madrid - Aravaca
Aravaca is located in Madrid, Spain, about five miles from the city centre, on the north side of Casa de Campo park. This picturesque little barrio was once an important centre of the Spanish Civil War and was completely devastated by Franco's army. It was later rebuilt in the late 1940s and many of the new buildings were designed in the Castilian style. Casa de Campo park is a popular place to go walking and escape the hustle and bustle of the city, which is just a short drive away.
