Introduction to Logrono - Haro
Wine is a very good reason to come to Haro as it is in the most famous Rioja region of Spain. This is the regional centre for the country's main vineyards, where red is produced for wine lovers all over the world. The northern Spanish city hosts the annual Wine Festival and the Battle of the Wine, and the local restaurants are more than geared up to offer visitors a good variety from their wine lists. Hotels in Haro run from the very luxurious to the quite simple but quality is the one common factor. Tours of the vineyards can be arranged locally and there is a wealth of historic sights to view in the town centre, with the Santo Tomas church a main feature. Needless to say there is a Haro wine museum, but the town centre could be described as a historic sight in itself. The true Spanish architecture of the main square along with fine restaurants make this town somewhere to relish and of course, to enjoy a good glass of red.
