Introduction to Logrono - Albelda de Iregua
The village of Albelda de Iregua is found in the lower valley of the Rio Iregua, beneath the Cebollera Mountains. It is south of the city of Logrono, the capital of the wine-making province of La Rioja in Northern Spain. There are many cultural monuments found within walking distance of most Albelda de Iregua hotels, including the Romanesque Shrine of Our Lady of Ox and the Chapel of Santa Fe de Palazuelos, the latter of which provides a beautiful view of the valley below. The Shrine of Santa Isabel is another beautiful stone chapel located right in town, near the ruins of San Martin de Albelda, a Riojan monastery built in the 10th century. One of the most popular things to do in the region is wine tasting in the many bodegas scattered throughout its fertile hills and valleys. The Parque Natural de la Sierra de Cebollera is found farther south, filled with forests of pine, Pyrenean Oak groves and an array of wildlife seen from the park's meandering trails.other spellings: albeda del iregua otel, albleda de irgua hote, albelda de irequa hotles, albeda de iregau
