Introduction to Jaen - Cazorla
Set in Spain's remote Jaen Province, the small city of Cazorla lies hidden in a valley in the rugged mountainous landscapes of the Sierra de Cazorla ranges. It is the gateway to a magnificent natural park, the Sierras de Cazorla Segura y las Villas. This huge protected area of forests and breathtaking river gorges holds the birthplace of the country's second-longest river, the Guadalquivir. The ancient town holds three squares, joined by narrow, twisting alleyways that are overlooked by the towers of a restored Moorish fortress. Cazorla hotels are favourites with history and outdoor sports lovers, and the town's 2,000-year history and heritage gives visitors plenty to see and do.
