Arroyo Frio (cold creek) is a pretty village surrounded by history and culture, located in Spain's province of Jaen in the beautiful mountainous range of Sierra de Cazorla. It acts as the main resting point within this stunning natural park, and there are a number of good Arroyo Frio hotels where travellers can relax while exploring the area. While touring through the region, visitors should stop and look at the shrine dedicated to the Virgin Mary, known as the Santuario de la Virgen de Tiscar. The nearby city of Cazorla is the main base for arriving into the mountains within Jaen, and can be found around 20kms southwest of the village. Here, visitors can see ruins dating back to the 17th century as well as the interesting Museum of Popular Arts and Traditions of the Upper Guadalquivir (Museo de Artes Y Costumbres ""Alto Guadalquivir""). Castillo de la Iruela in the nearby village of La Iruela is also worth visiting.
