The beach and its Cala Llenya hotels can only be reached by car, as public transport in this eastern part of the island is practically non-existent. Nearby San Carlos has been a favourite hippy destination for many years and is a charming little village, with its picturesque bars and coffee shops the meeting places for Ibiza's artistic and expat communities. The famous Las Dalias hippy market still takes place here daily, offering a great selection of artisan products and locally-grown fruit and vegetables.
