Alcolea del Pinar is an important hub in Guadalajara, Spain, as it is located at the crossing of Highway A-2, that runs from Barcelona to Madrid, and the N-211 to Teruel and Aragon. Thousands of people pass through the town each day and, as a result, there is quite a good selection of Alcolea del Pinar hotels that range from high-end to budget-friendly options. The town is filled with lovely Romanesque architecture, such as the parish church Pinar, which is one of the town's main attractions. Alcolea del Pinar's biggest draw is the Casa de Piedra (Stone House) that was made completely out of a stone rock and took 16 years to complete. The Alto Tajo Nature Reserve is less than 10kms away, making Alcolea del Pinar a great base for exploring the park, which is the largest and most important bio-diverse area in the Guadalajara province. The park is filled with canyons and gorges and makes for an excellent daytrip.
