Introduction to Granada - Airport
Granada Airport is best known as Federico Garcia Lorca Airport and serves the Spanish city of Granada and its surrounding province. Located some 15kms to the west of the city centre, most of its traffic is domestic, with a few international flights to Milan and Bologna. Six low-cost airlines operate routes - Air Europa, Blu-express, Air Nostrum, Ryanair, Spanair and Veuling, with Iberia hosting a regular Madrid flight. Destinations covered include Palma de Mallorca, Barcelona, and Tenerife, as well as Rome - a recent addition. The airport's single terminal hosts all the usual facilities such as cafes, a restaurant, banking, a VIP lounge, telephones, internet access and car rental desks. If car hire is not required, onward transportation is by bus or taxi. Although there are no hotels on the complex, a selection of Granada Airport hotels are located several kilometres away, and will provide a shuttle service for travellers booking in advance.
