Introduction to Girona - Cantallops
Set right on the border between Spain and France, overlooking the Mediterranean coast, is the tiny hamlet of Cantallops, home to just over 300 inhabitants. It offers a nearby pretty beach, a golf course, a cinema and several interesting old churches. Overlooked by the mountains of the Albera range, it's connected to the nearest town, La Jonquera, by the GE601 highway. The spectacular scenery of this part of Spain conceals many tiny villages and small towns close to Cantallops, with historic country mansions and little hillside monasteries given new life as Cantallops hotels. The region has a fascinating history, with the border between the two countries swinging back and forth over hundreds of years. It's a remote location that is great for stress-busting holidays involving walking, hiking and enjoying the magnificent views of the coast and the mountains around every corner. But if you're looking for vibrant nightlife and a large choice of accommodation and eateries, look elsewhere! other spellings: cantallop otel, cantalops hote, cantalop hotles, caetallops hotle, kantallops hotes
