In the Costa Blanca region, overlooking the calm Mediterranean Sea is the town of Gandia. This is a tourist resort town with a great beach offering many activities, from beach sports and sunbathing to water sports and sightseeing trips on boats. The town also has a shopping district, packed with a wide variety of shops selling everything from souvenirs to food and clothes to essential items. Hotels in Gandia are mostly large and luxurious with facilities for maximum comfort. Some of the largest Gandia hotels have their own casinos and cinemas, as well as the standard pool and restaurant/bar. The coastline is filled with these large hotels and also with resort compounds, which offer relaxation in the sun. Among the luxurious complexes, it is possible to find budget hotels, which are usually booked as part of a package deal. On the outskirts of town are the slightly cheaper hotels in Gandia, including guesthouses and holiday apartments.
