Introduction to Cuenca - City Centre
The capital of Cuenca province, southwest of Madrid and also called Cuenca, is a city of majestic churches, mountainous surroundings and architecture from the Middle Ages. There are plenty of hotels in Cuenca city centre to choose from when planning your trip to the city, of varying price ranges. Accommodation in the centre of the city is close to the busy Plaza Mayor, where the 12th century Gothic cathedral and the 18th century Town Hall are located. This busy square also houses various cafes and restaurants, and the buzzing entertainment district is close by, though for a wider range of shopping options the modern town is better. If it’s historical sights that you want to see, then visit the castle-like Saint Paul’s Convent, connected to the town by the huge Saint Paul’s Bridge, and the old city walls. There are also some light-hearted things to do and see, including visiting the unique Hanging Houses and having a great time at night in one of Cuenca’s lively bars.other spellings: cuencahotels, cuenca otel, ceunca hotell, cuenga hote, ceenca hotes, hotle in ceunca
