Introduction to Ciudad Real - Almagro
One of the highlights for tourists visiting south-central Spain is the richly historic city of Almagro, found in the Paelozoic ranges of Ciudad Real. Occupied since the Bronze Age, the city has made a significant name for itself in Spanish records, much of which is documented in the Ethnography Museum of Calatrava. Almagro has long been a centre for the region's dramatic arts, hosting the International Festival of Classical Theatre at its Museum of National Theatre. Almagro hotels are surrounded by heritage buildings such as churches, manor houses and noble estates, many of which have been sympathetically restored over the years, preserving the city's beauty for visitors. In the main square, local restaurants serve the region's signature eggplants, often offered pickled with banderillas and other tapas. Churches and monasteries from as early as the 15th century are scattered between orchards and centuries-old wine cellars. The palaces of Medrano, Condes de Valdeparaiso and Marqueses de Torremejia are particularly breathtaking, found along the outskirts of the city. other spellings: almagor otel, elmagro hote, allmagro hotles, almargro hotle, almaqro hotes
