Introduction to Cadiz - City Centre
Cadiz is a major port of in the south west of Spain and is the main departure point for ferries to Tenerife. As such, many of the hotels in Cadiz are grouped around the city centre and dockside area. But apart from this important sea connection to the islands, Cadiz has great architectural attractions which go back to the Moors. After some 500 years of rule the conflict ended in 1262 when Alphonso X of Castile saw the Moors off. As a sign of the city’s truly ancient history, Cadiz is thought to be the oldest intact and continuously populated city in Europe. The hotels in Cadiz city centre are geared towards those heading off to Tenerife as well as those looking to enjoy spending time in old Cadiz. In this area the highlights are the old plazas, full of Spanish atmosphere and style. The cathedral and the Plaza de la Catedral are places tourists must visit when staying at one of the Cadiz hotels.other spellings: cadiz city center otel, citycentre cadiz hotell, cadis citi centre hote, cadez citycentre
