Introduction to Caceres - Brozas
The town of Brozas, in Spain's Caceres Province, features many prehistoric remains and some nice examples of local architecture. The town centre has a number of significant homes which have passed through family generations, such as the Palacio de la Torre, the Mansion de los Bravos and the Palacio de los Condes de Canilleros. There are also several religious buildings worth checking out, with the Iglesia de Santa Maria having the most historical significance and recognised as being of national cultural interest. The fortress of Brozas, which overlooks the town from its highest point, is made up of various buildings from different eras. The town only has a population of approximately 2,250 people, but there are ample Brozas hotels to accommodate the many visitors who arrive throughout the year. Tourists will find all the amenities they require, such as a reasonable choice of restaurants. The nearest city is Caceres itself, which is around 40kms to the southeast and can be reached on the EX-207 route. Roughly 30kms in the other direction and of possible interest to nature enthusiasts is Tejo International Natural Park.
